Going the extra mile to make a Unicorn dream come true ¦ ¦

Scousers were recently labelled the kindest people in the UK, it is not surprising therefore, that Liverpool businesses go that extra mile for things they believe in. North West-based building and maintenance contractors, Housing Maintenance Solutions (HMS) and CDP Communications Design and Print recently teamed up to make someone ‘s dream come true.

Milea-Jo is a very special young lady, who lives with her family in a Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) property north of the city centre. LMH is a long-standing client of CDP.

Milea-Jo suffers from spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a condition which affects her whole body. Although Milea-Jo operates a specialised wheelchair, activities around her home were still difficult, so it was necessary for several adaptations to be made to make life and mobility much easier.

Having been put in touch with Milea-Jo s family by LMH, HMS put plans in place for an extension to be built to their bungalow. This was to include not only a new bedroom and bathroom – HMS also chose to go the extra mile for Milea-Jo, fulfilling one of her dreams.

Milea-Jo had stated that she loved both unicorns and diamonds, so, as a surprise, along with several unicorn and diamond themed accessories, it was decided to make one wall of the new extension a feature wall, which would be illustrated with special unicorn wallpaper.

HMS ‘s graphic designer  came up with a unique design, which CDP, without any hesitation, made into a special unicorn themed wallpaper.

The result was a delighted Milea-Jo, whose dream of seeing unicorns really did come true.
